Security Posture

Overall Organizational Security Strength

What is Security Posture?

Security Posture refers to the overall strength and effectiveness of an organization's cybersecurity defenses, including its ability to prevent, detect, and respond to threats. It reflects the maturity of Security Controls, processes, and technologies in place.

Security posture is influenced by factors such as Attack Surface, Vulnerabilities, and the effectiveness of controls like EDR, SIEM, and Identity and Access Management (IAM). It is often measured through frameworks, maturity models, and risk assessments.

What is Security Posture used for?

Security posture is used to evaluate an organization's readiness to handle cyber threats and guide strategic decision-making. It helps prioritize investments in areas such as Defense in Depth, Zero Trust, and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM).

Security leaders use posture assessments to identify gaps, improve resilience, and align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) requirements.
