Firewalls are used to prevent unauthorized access, block malicious traffic, and enforce security policies. They protect against threats such as Exploits, Malware, and Denial of Service (DoS / DDoS) attacks.

Organizations use firewalls as part of Defense in Depth and Zero Trust strategies to secure network boundaries.
