Wazuh

Open-Source SIEM and XDR Platform

What is Wazuh?

Wazuh is an open-source security platform that combines SIEM and XDR capabilities in a single solution for threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring across endpoints and cloud workloads. Its architecture includes a lightweight multi-platform agent plus central components such as the Wazuh server, indexer, and dashboard, giving security teams a unified way to collect telemetry, analyze alerts, and investigate suspicious activity. Wazuh is especially relevant for CISOs and security leaders seeking stronger detection coverage without the commercial cost and lock-in often associated with proprietary platforms.

Wazuh is used to centralize security operations across hybrid environments by collecting logs, monitoring file integrity, assessing configurations, tracking asset inventory, and supporting active response workflows. It is commonly deployed to improve endpoint visibility, strengthen compliance monitoring, and support broader security operations strategies where open integrations and flexible deployment models matter. Because it supports on-premises, virtualized, containerized, and cloud-based environments, Wazuh can fit organizations building a scalable detection program or maturing a SOC capability over time. It also aligns naturally with related CISO Plus themes such as security operations, cyber resilience, incident response leadership, and security architecture strategy.
