UAC - User Access Control

Definition

What is User Access Control (UAC)?

User Access Control (UAC) is a security feature in Windows operating systems that helps prevent unauthorized changes to the system by limiting the privileges of software and users. When a program or user attempts to make changes that could affect the operating system (like installing software or modifying system settings), UAC prompts the user for confirmation or requires administrator approval.
