Supply Chain Attack

Definition

What a Supply Chain Attack?

A Supply Chain Attack refers to a situation where attackers target an organization’s suppliers or vendors to compromise its security instead of attacking a company directly.

Attackers infiltrate the weaker links in its supply chain, such as software providers, service vendors, or hardware suppliers.

Once they gain access, they can introduce malware or backdoors into legitimate products or services. These attacks are particularly dangerous because they can bypass traditional security defenses by exploiting trusted third-party relationships.
