The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0

What is the NIST CSF 2.0?

The NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 is the latest iteration of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) widely adopted framework designed to enhance cyber security resilience.

Released as an update to the original framework introduced in 2014, version 2.0 incorporates lessons learned, evolving technologies, and new cyber threats, providing organizations with a more robust and flexible guide to managing cybersecurity risks.

Key components of the framework remain the same, built around the five core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover which offers a high-level, strategic view of an organization’s cyber security posture and are supported by categories and subcategories that guide actionable steps for implementation.
