What is Data Loss Prevention (DLP)?

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) sometimes referred to as “Data Leak Prevention” systems focus on identifying, monitoring, and blocking the transfer of sensitive or confidential information outside the organization to prevent theft or unauthorized exposure of this data.

DLP uses content analysis and user access management tools to ensure that information remains protected and does not inadvertently or maliciously leave the organization.
