Phishing Attack is a type of a social engineering attack in which cyber criminals impersonate trusted entities such as banks, popular websites, or colleagues via email, text messages (smishing), phone calls (vishing) or other communication methods to trick individuals into revealing sensitive information like passwords, credit card numbers, or login credentials.

These messages could also contain malicious links or attachments as a way for attackers to execute malware.
