Identity and Access Management (IAM)
What is Identity and Access Management (IAM)?
Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a framework of policies, technologies, and processes used to manage and control access to an organization’s resources, systems, and data.
It ensures that the right individuals have the appropriate access to technology resources at the right times, while protecting the organization from unauthorized access or misuse.
It includes identification (assigning a unique identity to each entity), authentication (verifying the identity of an entity), authorization (granting predefined permissions) access control and monitoring (managing and enforcing who can access specific resources) also known as IAAA.
