Antivirus

Definition

What is an Antivirus?

The traditional Antivirus software is designed to detect, block, and remove malware, such as viruses, worms, and Trojans, from systems. It scans files to protect the computer from known attacks by comparing files and other parameters to their regularly updated signature databases to detect new threats.

Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV) employs advanced techniques that go beyond traditional antivirus, such as behavioral and heuristic analysis, to detect and block advanced threats like APTs and unknown or novel malware.
